- The Galaxy S23 will purportedly have a 3,900mAh battery.
- This would be a slight capacity upgrade over the Galaxy S22.
We saw Galaxy S23 Plus and S23 Ultra battery details apparently leak last week, but we didn’t hear anything about the base model’s battery capacity at the time. Fortunately, a prominent leaker may have dished out details today.
Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has claimed that the base Galaxy S23 will offer a battery with a rated capacity of 3,785mAh. This translates into a typical capacity of 3,900mAh. Check out the machine-translated post below.
This capacity increase would make for a 200mAh boost over the Galaxy S22‘s rather tiny 3,700mAh battery. However, a 3,900mAh battery is still on the very small side, so hopefully Samsung is able to eke out a few more hours with a more efficient chipset and improved software.
The base Galaxy S23 might not be the only model to receive a small battery capacity upgrade. A leak last week pointed to the Plus variant delivering a 4,700mAh battery, up from 4,500mAh. On the other hand, it seems like Samsung will retain a 5,000mAh battery for the S23 Ultra.
We’ve nevertheless got a pretty good idea of what to expect from the Galaxy S23 series owing to these and other leaks. But we’re definitely keen to see software features, pricing, and other details.
